Acid Reflux and Heartburn

Acid reflux and heartburn has to do with the
sphincter muscle between the lower esophagus
and upper stomach.

How it opens and close, and the strength or
weakness of this valve is involved. The normal
position of this valve is closed position. This
is to keep stomach acid, food, and drink from
being regurgitated back up into the esophageal tube.

It is affected quite a bit by what you eat. I find
that people who eat plenty of raw vegetables and
fruit don't have as much reflux.

The enzymes in the raw food certainly help with
digestion. A digestive aid or an apple is my favorite,
if I am having any symptoms.

There is much more to be learned about acid reflux
and diet, and you can start here with the heartburn
and acid reflux blog

Acid Reflux Disease

Acid Reflux Disease

If you suffer from Acid Reflux Disease, you
require some relief. Read on for assistance in
understanding this.

Acid Reflux disease, or heartburn occurs when
the tight ring like muscles at the bottom of the
esophagus relaxes. This little ring of muscle is
called the esophageal sphincter (LES). This is a
one way valve. But when relaxed food and liquid is
reversed. This allows the acid from nourishment and
liquid from the stomach to be splashed or pushed back
up into the lower esophagus creating Acid Reflux.
