Low Metabolism? Start Exercising

A study conducted by the Mayo Clinic found that obese people have a low NonExercise Activity Thermogenesis . On average, they spend two-and-a-half-hours more in a chair than their leaner peers and end up burning 350 fewer calories a day.

And it appears they do not move around as much because of their low metabolism according to Dr. James Levine, a Mayo Clinic endocrinologist who led the study.

In the second phase of the study, the lean people were overfed by 1,000 calories a day to make them gain weight, while the fatter people were underfed by 1,000 daily calories. Even with weight loss, the naturally obese moved less. It was their metabolism.

If this applies to you, I know how frustrating it can be. I have a slow metabolism as well.

Exercise is a must with a low metabolism and are looking for weight loss. I know you are tired, and have low vitality, but get out there and move. Even increased walking can make a difference. Then work up to more exercise as you are able.
